Keep in mind all Cal State's require incoming freshmen to complete the Cal State Apply process before auditioning for the respective school's music departments.

CSUSB Music Audition Video Submissions are Due Feb. 1st, 2022
...Upcoming virtual entrance auditions for the academic year of 2022-2023. Video auditions and submission forms are due by February 1st, 2022 and ZOOM interviews will be conducted on February 5th and 6th, 2022. Once your student’s form and recording have been received, the Department of Music will contact your student to schedule an audition interview with our faculty. The CSUSB Music Department currently offers two undergraduate degree programs; these include the Bachelor of Music with concentrations in Voice Performance, Instrumental Performance, Piano Performance, Guitar Performance and Pre-Certification (Education) and the Bachelor of Arts in Music for those students planning on careers in music technology and/or arts administration. In addition, we offer a Minor in Music as well as minors in Music Technology and Alternative Styles of Music. We have a robust group of performing ensembles including the Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, a Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Opera Theatre, Vocal Jazz, and Percussion Ensemble as well as chamber groups in every instrument area.
Cal State Long Beach
Saturday morning (1/22) at 10AM! Faculty from all areas of study, current students and alumni will be speaking and sharing some recent student work. We’ll also have break out rooms for each area and a students’ only room. This is a great opportunity to meet your area directors before your audition. If you’re on the fence about your major choice, you can ask them about the difference between both majors and see if it helps you decide! Cal State Fullerton
You have applied to CSUF through Cal State Apply.
Your application has been processed by the School of Music.
It may take up to two weeks for the School of Music to receive your Cal State Apply application.
Once processed, you will start receiving emails from the School of Music.
Any prescreening requirements have been met (select areas only).
Prescreening submission instructions will be emailed to applicants in areas requiring prescreening upon meeting the two criteria above.
Cal State Northridge
We look forward to your CSUN Music audition! Due to COVID protocol issues in the city of Los Angeles and on campus, we will not be able to hold your audition live on campus on February 5th and 12th. Therefore, we are giving you two possible options for auditions on those dates. Please choose one right away and e-mail us with your decision. We will get back to you with additional information by January 28th:
Option 1: I would like to do a live zoom audition on my audition day.
Option 2: I would prefer to submit a video audition and will do so by February 19th.
